Is someone here streaming and parsing ORU_R01 messages from medical devices directly to a database using Python or Spark?

That (in Python) is on my interested-in-doing list, but with a lot of competing priorities. Good to hear of your interest, though, and I'll be interested in any further activity you hear about.
