Jeremy Greco (Apr 08 2019 at 12:22):There's more than one standard for HL7? I thought HL7 was the name of the standard. As far as version I'm looking for whatever the latest version currently is. I understand it to be Version 3. I found a document on the website (http://www.hl7.org/implement/standards/product_brief.cfm?product_id=276) for convertion NEMSIS 3 to HL7 that i've been referencing and at the bottom of that document I see there is an example XML file. I'm looking for an XSD that defines that file or if there is a newer version of it.

What you're looking for can be found here: https://www.hl7.org/implement/standards/product_brief.cfm?product_id=7 The CDA set of standards is likely what you want, and you'll want Release 2 (the first download link). That should give you what you need.

Suman - that is a HL7 V2 message from the Patient Administation domain. You will want to look at Chapter 3 of the HL7 v2 specification. A41 is the trigger event for a Merging of two account records.
